Luke 15 CEB (Common English Bible)
from Luke-Acts CEB (Common English Bible) · host Lucius from Cyrene, one of the prophets and teachers at Antioch
What a great chapter Jesus tells three parables one about a lost sheep, and everybody would go after the one lost sheep. Sometimes in our songs we act like it’s a wild idea to go after the lost sheep, but Jesus and I guess anybody like my friend Tim, who has sheep would obviously go after the lost sheep. Everybody knows even those of us who aren’t farmers that if we lose one coin that’s a special coin that means something you know like it’s worth a dollar or more that we would try to find that one coin even though we have nine other coins, of course we would go and look for that And then the story of the prodigal son the story of the good father. It’s wild that Jesus would tell the story about a dad who would do that because nobody would’ve done that. Nobody would’ve done any of the things that he did. Nobody would’ve given him the inheritance and nobody would welcome him back and yet Jesus is trying to help them see that that’s exactly what God the father doesand yet the father in his compassion doesn’t just go to the lost son. He also goes out to the found son the older son he goes out to heaven and beg him wow a God who bags that’s so wild that is so so wild.
