Luke 19 CEB (Common English Bible)

from Luke-Acts CEB (Common English Bible) · host Lucius from Cyrene, one of the prophets and teachers at Antioch

Jesus encounters a very wealthy man. What is Jesus opinion about people who are wealthy? I suppose he likes to meet with them, and came to save and seek what was lost. Jesus tells a very interesting story about a man who goes away to receive a kingdom, common, a very similar Story as Harrod Archelaus. This story would, of course, have been well known to the people of the day, even though it is completely lost in many ways to readers of Luke. Jesus goes into Jerusalem as he observes the city and weeps over it. I have a memory trick to remember a few things about his comments on Jerusalem as he’s weeping for it The acronym is BEAT. Your enemies will build that’s the B fortifications against you in circle that’s the E you and attack. That’s the A you on every side they that’s the T will crush you completely. They won’t leave one stone on top of another within you. Then Jesus goes into the temple and throws people out quotes from the Old Testament. I believe Jeremiah and the people want to kill him, but they just can’t find a way to kill them.
