Luke 5

Jesus calls His first disciples from their fishing boats, transforming fishermen into fishers of men through a miraculous catch that demonstrates divine power. His healing of a leper and paralytic reveals both His compassion for outcasts and His authority to forgive sins—claiming a prerogative that belongs to God alone. The conflict with Pharisees over eating with tax collectors and fasting introduces the tension between Jesus's ministry and religious tradition.
