Luke Richmond: One Life One Chance

from Live Train Perform · host Shaun Kober

"I hit rock bottom in my early twenties after succumbing to drug addiction, but managed to set myself straight after finding a sweaty salvation in the Muay Thai training camps of Thailand. Since those demon days I have gone on to climb the highest mountain on 6 continents, brave minus 60 degree temperatures in Antarctica, and have been held captive in the jungles of West Papua. I have witnessed death before my eyes on the highest peaks and have healed my mind with an ocean row across the Atlantic Ocean, setting a new world record. In a recent expedition, I dragged a cart containing all of my food and water across 1800 km of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, becoming the first Australian male to do so. I have found comfort in suffering while on adventures and it feels as if I have lived ten lifetimes, yet I am only just getting started."Luke Richmond is a coach, an athlete, an adventurer, and a two-time author. In this interview, we discuss his journey through life, including service with the Australian Army as an infantry soldier, battling drug addiction, training and coaching in Thailand, and his many adventures and expeditions that have seen him face more adversity than most people will ever experience in their lifetime.Luke is the author of two books:One Life One Chance (which is his life motto)Vodka and Sandstormshttps://www.olocadventures.com/shopYour host - Shaun KoberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/coach_kobes/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/performancefunctionaltrainingYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnOpTWXi1xKdamDBgzlfaPwYour guest - Luke RichmondWebsite: https://www.olocadventures.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/luke_olocadventures/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/OLOCAdventuresShaun Kober is a Mindset & Performance Specialist, with a unique skillset forged in the trenches, through the various stages of life."I shouldn’t be in the position I am right now."The odds were stacked against me:●       Poor family on welfare, eldest of 6 kids, parents didn’t work, abusive step-dad, no electricity or running water for a 6 years period of my life●       Caught up with the wrong crowd, stealing, drugs, skipping school●       At 14 years old, I sat on a bus for 3 days with $50 in my pocket, to travel to the next State over West, to begin a new life in the workforce - 200014 - 20: I grew up and learned how to become a man through work and rugby20 - 26: I lived, trained and fought as a professional soldier, at a high level26 - 32: I became a personal trainer, after failing in my pursuit to become a firefighter32 - 38: I worked with, and won world titles with some of the best athletes on the planet, as their strength and conditioning coach38+: The next evolution begins #coachedbykobes#livetrainperform#mindsetandperformanceLive Life To The Fullest.Train To Your Potential.Perform At Your Best!https://www.coachedbykobes.com/
