Luz Reyes Martin talks about her childhood as an immigrant when she watched her undocumented classmates fear being separated from their parents and how it taught her how government can affect the lives of the people it serves. Now, she is President of the Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee, a non-partisan group that helps get women elected to positions on every level. A mother of two young children and Executive Director of Communications for Santa Barbara City College, Luz says her most important job is to show her children what a woman leader looks like, so both her son and daughter have a correct vision of women's roles in our culture.
