Lvl 116: The Half-Assed Episode

from The ProcrastiN8r Podcast

Half assed, sure. But hey, ya know what? I recorded the freaking podcast. And that's the point. It got done and it was worth it. As Zig Ziglar puts it " “Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” You can do a half-assed shitty job at something important, but it's still important and worth doing. Even if you half assed it, it's better than uh...no assing it. Like ya know, brushing your teeth for a few seconds is better than not brushing them at all. Eating a Pop tart is better than starving yourself. Paying one bill is better than paying none. Walking across your living room is better than no exercise at all. You get the gist. Look, ya don't have to achieve perfection in order to do something worthwhile. We have this idea in society that if you're not going to EXCEL at what you're doing, then you better just not do it. It's a "Get good or Get Out" mentality. But I say it's okay to half ass some things, especially if you don't have the resource to go...full ass. If you just don't have the energy, if you're emotionally drained, whatever the case may be, don't feel like you have to do something in top performance in order to do it at all. Do what you can with what you got. Embrace your laziness.
