After graduating from the JD equivalent in Spain she got a job as a Foreign Attorney Trainee at a law firm in Detroit, MI. After working that job, she knew she was in the right place. So she decided to get her LLM first at the University of Pennsylvania before she took the full financial plunge into getting her JD.  She shares her struggles of not being able to take a year off to study for the LSAT to get into Penn Law’s JD program, and how grades affected her applying to JD programs from LLM programs at Penn. After assessing her options Espy found her place at the University of Arizona where she attended a two-year law program, yes you read that right, she did law school in 2 years! At the U of A Espy was the first international student to join the law review through the write on the competition. Her law review note is where it all started. The topic,  Analysis of Psychological Impact of Law School Education AKA she studied all about the emotional toll Law School takes on a person! Literally, Espy was studying lawyers' mental health before it was “cool”!! Now, fast forward and Espy is back in the Canary Islands writing briefs and appeals in immigration law, as well as training lawyer and law students, like us, about emotional intelligence and mindfulness. Espy also shares her struggles with the Bar Exam and how finding a Bar Exam Coach/Fairy Godmother changed her!Espy has started a new program for law students looking for their own Fairy Godmother to help them through this law school journey.
