Lympha Press Leadership Series: Betty Westbrook, PTA, CLT

With five seasons and over 100 episodes, the Lymphedema Podcast is a rich resource for both patients and clinicians alike. Founder Betty Westbrook, PTA, CLT, started the podcast because she wanted to be able to direct her patients to information they could listen to after they left her care. “It also kept me from repeating myself,” she says, jokingly. But it turned into so much more. Since the podcast’s 2019 launch, Westbrook has covered topics ranging from cellulitis, bandaging, sexual challenges, and grief with leading experts. In the process, her “always be professional” mantra shifted to “never forget to show you care.” Westbrook’s in-person demeanor comes through in her podcast episodes.
