There is a place where people gather for more than just the coffee and homemade candy, The Party Shop in downtown Huntington, Indiana is the the heart of the community, and for good reason. Lynette Dowden the owner of this long legacy establishment may only be a stepping stone in the line of ownership but she is making history in her town. Since 1920 the party shop has been serving the community and in 2026 that lives on with a heartfelt, warm smile and genuine care. It is here where people are filled with sweet treats that satisfies the sweet tooth, but also sweet friendships that satisfies the soul. Freddie Tackett has been around The Party Shop sense he was young but now he works stirring the caramel, bagging the candy, and winning the hearts of many with a hometown smile and friendly wave.
