एक माकड नदीकिनारी एका झाडावर राहत असे आणि मगरीशी त्याची मैत्री झाली.मगर रोज त्याला चक्कर मारून आणायची आणि त्याबद्दल तिला माकडाकडून गोड फळं मिळायची. एक दिवस मगरीच्या मैत्रिणीने या माकडाचे  काळीज  खाण्याचा कट रचला. मगर माकडाला पाण्यात नेते, पण माकड शिताफीने युक्ती लढवतो. तो खोटं सांगतो की अजून एक माकड  झाडावरआहे ,त्यालाही मी घेऊन येतो. मगर फसते, मात्र किनारा आल्यावर माकड पळून जाते आणि वाचते  आणि आपल्या हुशारीने आपला जीव वाचवते.A monkey lived on a tree by the riverside and became friends with a crocodile. Every day, the crocodile would take the monkey for a ride across the river and in return, receive sweet fruits from him. One day, the crocodile's wife made a plan to eat the monkey's heart. The crocodile tried to take the monkey into the water, but the monkey cleverly came up with a trick. He lied and said there was another monkey on the tree whom he would bring along.
