Clean-up
The cervical exam: a) dilation (how open in cm), b) effacement (thinning of the cervix, expressed in percentage), c) station (presenting part in relation to the ischial spines, with zero station being at the level of the ischial spine).
"Uterolytic" was referring to tocolytic (medications to stop contractions).
Routine prenatal visits address many concerns and screenings in pregnancy. Some refer to these visits as "belly checks" but much more happens at the visit, even if the most routine check.
