Mac and Me (1988)

from The Cannon Cruisers Hosted by The Cannon Cruisers

Mac and Me (1988) - Sci-Fi Family Adventure Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! This episode is brought to you by Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Sears and Skittles. Well, not really, but after watching Stewart Raffill's Mac and Me (1988), you might think otherwise. In this family sci-fi adventure, an alien accidentally brought to Earth befriends Eric, a boy who uses a wheelchair, while trying to reunite with his missing family. After covering several of Raffill's other films, I finally get JD to watch his most infamous one. He's got questions, and I don't always have answers. Between the unsettling alien puppets and an elaborate McDonald's dance number, we try to work out what anyone making this film was thinking. And why does every bag of Skittles appear upside down? Content Warning: This episode discusses a child's apparent death and briefly references suicide.
