Macintosh - A Computer For The Rest Of Us.

from Daily Podcast Practice · host Rich Grimshaw

Today is Macintosh Computer Day, always celebrated on January 24, because that’s the day in 1984 when the very first Macintosh computer was introduced to the public.  The 1984 Super Bowl commercial is HERE. During the past 24 hours, the United States Geological Survey reported 13 earthquakes in the lower 48 states and Alaska. On this day in 1935 the first canned beer, "Krueger's Cream Ale," was sold by Krueger Brewing Co., an American brewer in Newark, NJ. Also on this day, in 1939, an earthquake in Concepcion Chile killed 30,000 people. Born on this day in 1939 in Clarkdale, Georgia, American country, pop, and novelty singer-songwriter Harold Ray Ragsdale, known professionally as Ray Stevens. I leave you with this quote from Steve Jobs: “You go to your TV when you want to turn your brain off. You go to your computer when you want to turn your brain on. Those are not the same.”
