MacIver News Minute: Deal With It

from The MacIver Report: Wisconsin This Week · host The MacIver Institute

If you thought that politics as usual couldn’t get lower, then hold on. It's not working, Wisconsin! This past Friday, Good Friday, when you were not paying attention to politics, Governor Evers showed just how much he does not respect the citizens of Wisconsin. In a jazzy social media post, Governor Evers told all taxpayers to deal with it and vetoed the bill attempting to nullify his 400-year-long public school funding increase. We Energies announced they need another 14% rate hike. 14% more than the $2 billion in utility rate hikes that have already been rubber-stamped by Gov. Evers’ PSC.The Wisconsin Elections Commission says it's impossible to meet the constitutional requirements of the Only Citizens Vote amendment that passed by nearly 71%. So in theory, only citizens vote. In practice, anyone can.And Attorney General Josh Kaul has filed yet one more lawsuit against the Trump Administration and the will of the people. If you love individual freedom and responsible government. Then follow MacIver, find your voice in government, and we can all succeed because good policy begets good government.
