Mack Defends Herbert as Chargers Face Offseason Uncertainty

Following a disappointing playoff loss to the New England Patriots, veteran linebacker Khalil Mack spoke out to defend his quarterback, Justin Herbert. Mack expressed concern over Herbert’s tendency to internalize the blame for the defeat, emphasizing that the team’s failure should not rest solely on the quarterback's shoulders. As the Los Angeles Chargers enter their offseason, Mack is also contemplating his personal football future while entering free agency. Despite facing injuries and aging, the decorated defender remains driven by the desire to secure a championship title before retiring. His comments highlight the emotional weight of a winless postseason history and the strong bond between the team's veteran leadership and its young star.
