Mackling & Megarry - Friday, March 31st, 2017

from Connecting Winnipeg with Hal Anderson · host CJOB / Curiouscast

00:00 - A hodgepodge kind of hour. - We begin with congratulations to Norma Pauls, who won the CJOB Flyaway to U2 contest this morning -- after qualifying on Mackling & Megarry on March 23rd! Huzzah for Norma!- Then, Tristan Field-Jones tells us we can play Ms. Pac-Man on Google Maps, which is super neat. - Then, we talk about pranks -- with April Fool's Day looming. I (Brett) explain how I recently pranked Tristan by encasing his desk and workspace in a barrier of paper. - ALSO, we discuss how now that the snow is almost gone, we're seeing the results of all that snow we got over the winter - many damaged lawns from plows. It is to be expected, we're not complaining about the works plows are doing, it's just an observation. - I think that covers everything. - Brett 37:44 - Jeremy Diamond, executive director of The Vimy Foundation -- 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge is coming up on April 9th 52:28 - The Phantom of the Opera pre-sale is on! Also, remember that Phantom video Muchmusic used to play in the early 1990s? 74:52 - Wrestlemania 33 is on this weekend, 680 CJOB's Kyle Milroy put together a feature on the biggest weekend of the year for wrestling fans. On that note, I used to be a HUGE wrestling fan, and won myself a trip to Wrestlemania X-Seven in Houston, courtesy of Power 97! I'll tell you how I won it. 83:00 - Age of Electric ticket giveaway 85:20 - Hal Anderson tees up his weekend show, and plays a special song for us -- Come Friday With Me! 92:08 - Richard Cloutier & Julie Buckingham tee up The News
