Magic Coach Search Clears Final Obstacles

The Orlando Magic are closing in on their next head coach as the Eastern Conference Finals end, clearing the field of other major contenders like Cleveland and New York. With no other playoff teams hiring, Orlando now holds the most attractive coaching vacancy — giving them leverage to land their top choice. While fans have waited longer than usual, the Magic’s timeline is actually faster than past hires, and they’ve kept details tight — as they always do. Names like Billy Donovan and Jeff Van Gundy have floated around, but the Magic remain focused. With the dust settling, the final decision is imminent — and could ripple through the league, especially for teams like Dallas also in search of a new coach.
