Lisa Slade, Curator of the 2016 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Magic Object, introduces the panel discussion: ANIMISM AND OBJECT BEHAVIOUR. Facilitated by West Australian curator and writer Gemma Weston, this panel focusses upon the role of animism in the work of Biennial artists, Lola Greeno, Louise Haselton and Clare Milledge. The panel addresses the question – can animism as a system of exchanges and relationships between human and non-human subjects help us to understand ourselves and our ecology?
