Magical Deviations: Revolutionary Girl Utena

By popular request – and just before our 100th episodes – we proudly present our episode on one of our collective favorite anime series, Revolutionary Girl Utena.  Named "one of the most important anime series of the 90s" by Anime News Network, it's a beautiful mosaic of classic shoujo styling, takarazuka, shadow puppetry and a whole lotta symbolism.  We barely scartch the surface in this 1.5 hour episode so don't be surpised if we revisit it somewhere along the road. Because revolutionizing the world is complicated and kind of like escaping the Matrix.
