Magoon Gwath Joins DePaul, Aztecs Reload

Magoon Gwath, a seven-foot center from San Diego State, has transferred to DePaul via the portal. Despite a promising freshman year, Gwath struggled with injuries in his sophomore season, averaging just 8.9 points and 4.3 rebounds. Hell now face off against his former teammates, Miles Byrd and BJ Davis, in the Big East. Gwath earned Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021, setting a program record with 68 blocks. However, knee surgery and a hip injury hindered his performance this season. SDSU has added Nick Anderson and Jeremiah Bear Cherry to their roster, with Coach Brian Dutcher expressing confidence in Gwaths potential if he stays healthy.
