She also manages the personal brand PR for Gary Vaynerchuk and consults for other high profile individuals & companies such as DFF, Nike & Target. She is also the Co-Founder of Now Gaming (an esports consulting firm) and is an Executive Coach for PepTalk. Raised & educated in the USA to Egyptian parents, she is at home in both West & Arab worlds. She is an Ex-Googler, Ex-Netflix & Careem, and known as one of the leading global crisis managers. This Episode’s Heavy-hitter’s: - Maha’s early aspirations were actually to be in journalism, working on the newsroom floor! Even before she was involved in communications on the corporate level, she always loved the idea of being the first person to touch on exciting information before they figured out how to communicate it to the public. - Although she originally almost passed on it, Maha took one of the most important steps in her career when she decided to take her father’s advice and work as an office manager to a huge media mogul in the Middle East. - Maha was asked to write a speech for the Egyptian Prime Minister on his first trip to the United States. She had very little guidance on what to write about, but she was able to write a well-received speech by thinking about what the people would want to hear from the PM. - She also launched early cellphone networks throughout the Middle East and Africa, where she had to submit RFP’s for each region and won 19 contracts. - One thing Maha wishes more people knew about the Middle East is that it’s a “Yes” culture and not a “No” culture. They are very open to entrepreneurship and have a huge market, although Egypt specifically is a small enough region that they can be adaptable.
