麦迪转型棒球？Tracy McGrady to try his hand at baseball

Former NBA and China Basketball Association standout Tracy McGrady is trying to follow in the footsteps of basketball great Michael Jordan. McGrady is shooting to become a baseball player, and plans to try pitching for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League. McGrady says he's not doing it for the money, noting the salaries in the Atlantic league pail in comparison with those in the Major League Baseball ranks. The 34-year old is a former 7-time NBA all-star. However, he retired from basketball after a disappointing season last year with the Qingdao Doublestars here in the Chinese Basketball Associaiton. It's unclear whether McGrady has a shot at cracking the Skeeter's baseball roster. Of course, basketball great Michael Jordan famously played in the Chicago White Sox baseball organization in 1994 during his first retirement from basketball, reaching the Double-A level.
