Main Corpse | Ep. 28 - Live At Bridgeport Farmers Market: Lamb Stew, Oklahoma Bigfoot Murder & an Asylum

from Main Corpse · host Hillside Studios

For this very special episode, we come to you recording live from the Bridgeport Farmers Market in West Virginia. Bridgeportfarmersmarket.com/ We first interview the director of the Market, Debbie Workman, about what you can expect every Sunday in the market season, which typically runs from May through the second week of October. We then try a meal made specially for this episode by Kelsey. She used various local ingredients, many sourced from market vendors, as discussed in the interviews.  Here's what we tried: Stew of braised lamb shanks with medley of roasted vegetables Mashed potatoes with homemade lamb gravy Crusty bread from LeRoy Bakery "Samhain Draught" harvest chai tea infused crème brulée We then talk to David Long of Poe Run Craft and Provisions Facebook.com/PoeRun about his farm and the meat, eggs, and other farm goods he brings to market. We also talk with Caroline Nicholas of Hill and Holler Herbal Company Facebook.com/hillandhollerherbalco/ about her tea blends, foraging, and herbal crafts. We have two stories to accompany the interviews, for the first one Matt tells about the Oklahoma Bigfoot murder. Then Kelsey discusses some history of the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum or Weston State Hospital. We also talk about ghosts, aliens, noodling, and sustainability. Shoutout to Davis Brothers Inc. and the Vegetable Company for also providing products to work with in the recipes for the show.
