Your midday Maine weather update A gorgeous Saturday is underway across Maine, but those inviting temperatures in the 70s come with a serious safety warning. Cold water temperatures in our lakes and rivers are still dangerously low in the 40s, creating a potentially deadly combination for anyone tempted to take that first swim of the season. We started cool this morning with temperatures around 56 degrees at 5 A.M., but we're climbing fast.
