Maine’s SUN Program Feeds Kids This Summer

Maine’s summer SUN programs are back to feed kids when school’s out—offering $120 SUN Bucks via EBT, free meals at sites, and grab-and-go options—all for kids under 18. With rising food costs, this federally funded, state-run initiative slashes child hunger by a third nationwide and helps families stretch budgets. Benefits are accepted at most SNAP-eligible stores, and families can still apply until August 15th. It’s not just about meals—it’s about kids’ growth, development, and even boosting the local economy, with every dollar invested returning $1.50.
