Maintaining Proper Gap Between Motorcycle and Vehicle Ahead At Stop

from Spaulding Injury Law Podcast · host Ted Spaulding

No one wants to be involved in a motorcycle crash, but accidents happen every day. I   hope to provide some useful tips to drivers and bikers on how to stay safe on the road.  This is a reminder to keep an appropriate gap between you and the vehicle in front of you when you are at a stop. There should be enough room between the two of you so that you can maneuver at the last minute if you need to. I’ve had several cases where a motorcyclist where the motorcycle rear-ended the car in front of it and also was hit by the car behind them which is incredibly dangerous when riding a motorcycle. It’s such an easy mistake to avoid, and you can save yourself a lot of trouble by just staying vigilant and not taking chances.
