Major League

Take me out to the ballgame—this week, Amanda Stephens and Missy Washam are stepping up to the plate with the 1989 comedy Major League. With Charlie Sheen as the wild-throwing Ricky Vaughn, Tom Berenger as the aging catcher with heart, and a roster of unforgettable characters, this underdog baseball movie hit a home run with audiences and became a cult classic. Joining the sisters for this episode are their husbands, Eric Stephens and Chris Washam—both lifelong sports fans who are no strangers to the Reel Sisters Rewind lineup. Chris first joined the podcast for their Raiders of the Lost Ark episode, and Eric made his debut on Footloose (where he may or may not have been teased about his breakdancing moves). Now they’re both back to help break down the film’s hilarious moments, share fun behind-the-scenes trivia, and debate whether Major League is the best baseball movie of the 80s. From voodoo rituals to walk-off wins, this episode covers all the bases and will have you laughing from the dugout to the nosebleeds.
