Makayla Tells The Truth

from How to Sell Online · host Makayla Prince, Alison J. Prince

In this episode, I will be talking to a young inspiring entrepreneur that I’ve known for the last 19 years, my daughter Makayla Prince. Now, a lot of you heard the story of how she made her first six figures when she was just 13yrs old, and how just a few months ago Russell Brunson invited her to talk on the stage at Funnel Hacking Live where over 5000 people were present. I’ve watched Makayla dive into things that would have terrified me as a teenager, and let me tell you, that girl has no stage fright at all whatsoever. I’m so proud about how her business has really helped her step into who she really wants to become, and I just wanted her to share her story from her own perspective. One of the things that she will highlight is the way I applied some parenting magic to trick her into starting a business. Every parent knows that when you give your kids two not so fun choices and one really good one, they definitely choose the really good one. That’s how I got her to start a business because I asked her to choose whether to move out, do more chores, or start a business, and of course, she chose the latter. She will share how she started her business when she was just 13, talk about her first business selling scarfs, her first experience working with influencers, and some of the struggles and frustrating things she has ever had to deal with. She will also talk about framework and dive into one of the steps in the framework, which is that when one is starting a business, they should not go out there and get a brand new shark tank idea, but rather find what is trending. Tune in for more on that and some encouragement from Makayla to all parents on why they should start inviting their kids to business conferences, encouraging them to embrace entrepreneurship, and so much more.Key Takeaways:How she came about the idea of starting a business at 13 years old (05:48)Taking an age old product and making it a trend (08:29)The scary part of starting to work with influencers and how they helped her make her first sale (09:42)Dealing with ton and tons of orders and getting all of them out in time (12:58)Making hundreds of thousands of dollars and understanding the value of money (15:19)Tips for teenagers who want to start their own business (17:08)What parents can do to encourage their kids to be entrepreneurs (21:20)Her favorite part about owning her business (29:19)--Connect with Alison:FacebookInstagramLinkedIn>>> Join the $1-100k System
