Before this passage is about everyone, it is first about spiritual shepherds (elders, pastors). Paul writes to Timothy as a spiritual father encouraging him to raise up other faithful teachers who can shepherd God’s people. God’s work is never meant to rest on one leader or one generation. What Paul teaches Timothy shapes the whole Church: God grows His mission by entrusting people to entrust others.
