Here's another Make It Quick episode. This time featuring the gentlemen who will be on our full episode later this week, Andrew Thalston. Andrew has been kind enough to send me an advanced copy of the master of his single that should be coming out the middle of the month. And I'm really glad he did because it's a good example of true songwriting.
I read in a book about 25, 30 years ago about songwriting. That a really good song sounds good whether it's being played with a full symphony orchestra, a five or 20 piece band or just one voice and one acoustic guitar or a piano. And you're going to hear that comparison right now because I'm going to play you the master of the Andrew sent me and then right after that you're going to hear the acoustic version from our recording session for the podcast. In the full band version you're going to hear how the instrumentation really compliments the song.
It's a high energy song and he does a great job of giving it a high energy instrumentation without going overboard. However, as I alluded to before, it also sounds good on acoustic guitar and it's a strong enough song that you can put a lot of force and energy behind it even with just the one instrument. So I'm going to let you hear it now. Here is Aggressive Chemistry by Andrew Thalston.
That full band version of the song was recorded to Andrew's Ginger Bird Studios. We'll talk more about that on the full episode that's coming out this week so make sure to sign up wherever you get your podcast like Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Stitcher, etc. And look for it later this week.
