Make plans but don't plan the outcome is a phrase I heard often in my early years. My grandfather was a fount of knowledge, wisdom and cliches. Not planning the outcome was his favourite expression. This idiom has stuck with me for my entire life. And yet, this nugget of wisdom is not always easy to heed. We all want things to turn out a certain way. That's what being human is all about. People are constantly making plans and planning how things will turn out. Everyone wants what they want. This is human nature. However, things rarely go to plan. One must adapt and readjust as necessary based on conditions and circumstances. This week's episode is a fun discussion between Shawn and Leah about making plans. Be specific and measurable. Break Down Tasks: Identify the specific steps needed to reach your goals. Set Deadlines and Timelines: Give yourself a reasonable timeframe to complete each task. Prioritize Tasks: Decide which tasks are most important and need to be done first. Allocate Resources: Determine what you need (time, money, tools, etc.) to complete the tasks.
