Make Sense of the Whole Bible, Book by Book – Monica Welsh – 06/23/2026
from The Catholic Morning Show · host Sam Halligan, Monica Welsh
Meet Monica Welsh A Benedictine College theology graduate, former missionary, and ninth-grade theology teacher, Monica is part of the Damascus missionary community in central Ohio. She joins the show from Summit Lake — Damascus' brand-new East Coast camp in Maryland, launching its first summer — where her husband serves as camp director. Why She Built It The courses were born out of Monica's own need. After years of formation, she realized she knew Bible stories but not how the books fit together. She pulled from more than a dozen trusted Catholic sources (Ascension and Jeff Cavins, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. John Bergsma, the St. Paul Center, the Institute of Catholic Culture, and Sophia Institute Press) to build something accessible for a ninth grader yet engaging for adults. What's Inside Two flagship courses — an Old Testament course (roughly a 90-page workbook) and a New Testament course (around 50 pages) — with over 10 hours of audio teaching. Just scan the QR code in the workbook, listen to each conversational lesson, and take notes at your own pace. Monica also offers prayer companions for seasons like transition, postpartum, and Advent, plus her podcast, The Catholic Bible Pod with Mon. Get Started Explore the Old Testament and New Testament courses at thecatholicbibleclasswithmon.com. Monica returns later this week on The Catholic Morning Show. What this episode covers
Catholic Bible teacher Monica Welsh joins guest host Sam Halligan to share The Catholic Bible Class with Mon, a casual, self-paced way to finally understand the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Drawing on her years teaching ninth-grade theology and study under leading Catholic Scripture scholars, Monica built audio-guided Old Testament and New Testament courses that take beginners to a confident, intermediate level. She explains how the courses connect every book of the Bible, deepen your experience of the Sunday readings, and make God's Word approachable for busy Catholics.
