Make Straight the Way of the Lord // John 1:19-34

from Tri-State Community Church - Sermons · host Tri-State Community Church

In John 1:6 we learn of a man sent by God who was given the charge to “Make straight the way of the Lord” (vs. 23). This man was John the Baptist and his assignment was to clear the obstacles from our hearts which stand in the way of our Savior. In this message, Rick shows us three of these obstacles: 1) constantly looking at self 2) failing to look to Christ 3) lack of repentance. While we are constantly looking to ourselves we are not looking to Christ and while we are not looking to Christ we do not see ourselves as we truly are and when we fail to see ourselves as we truly are we do not believe we need to repent. The answer rests in a fresh view of Jesus.
