Making Change — Giving Is Good

The third message in the finances series turns to generosity, taking as its text Acts 20:35 , "it is more blessed to give than to receive." The point is again the heart, not the wallet: when believers give, they show the world a glimpse of a giving God, the God who so loved that he gave. Honest reasons people withhold are named, struggle, distrust of pastors who have abused the platform, and a scarcity mindset, and answered with an abundance mindset grounded in 2 Corinthians 9 and Proverbs 11. The teaching is explicit that giving here is never coerced or guilt-driven, but an act of worship and obedience. Three practical truths follow: trust God with the tithe, drawing on Malachi 3:10 and the distinction between believing in God and believing God; plan your generosity rather than improvising; and start being generous now, partnering in the mission rather than waiting for a more comfortable time.
