Making Choices

I was thrilled. Last year, our oldest grandson, Josh, chose to attend a Christian conference during his college break. He even signed up to attend the conference during an upcoming school vacation. The grandma inside me is ecstatic! Although research says some teens and young adults are cautious or even hesitant about organized religion, many welcome thoughtful engagements about faith issues. Josh is among the growing number of young adults who want to continue learning about Jesus. Connections with family members offer a natural opportunity for faith-focused conversations. We can do many things for the next generation; after all, shopping carts are full, and kitchen counters are loaded with treats. However, only the Holy Spirit can open hearts to Jesus’ forgiving love.
