Making Choices about ABA, Schools and More | With Jessica Wilbur #114

from Autism Weekly · host ABS Kids

This week, we would like to welcome Jessica Wilbur, a mother of 2 children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and a Behavior Technician recruiter for ABS Kids. Her sons Chris and Alex are now 10 and 6 years old. Jessica navigated the diagnosis of her boys, retiring from the Air Force and relocating from Louisiana to Michigan all while researching the best supports for her family such as therapies, interventions, her community, and school. Now also working as a Behavior Technician recruiter for ABS Kids, Jessica brings a unique view of the autism community through her experiences. We are excited to talk about what she learned along the way, and ongoing challenges, especially how the wide support options out there for families can intersect, collaborate, and even possibly compete.
