Making Disciples

What did the disciples do in response to the Great Commission? In this video, Paul White emphasizes the importance of interpreting the Great Commission through the actions of the disciples who heard it. The disciples, as documented in the book of Acts, preached the gospel, made disciples, gathered them into churches, and provided them with training and teaching. This resulted in the continuous advancement and spreading of the gospel, alongside the planting of churches. White cautions against assuming certain outcomes and treading into dangerous territory. The disciples were obedient and faithful to the church, devoting their lives to Christ, and leaving the results to God. This, according to White, is the Holy Spirit's interpretation of the Great Commission and is the safest application of it. 1 Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV): 'I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.'
