Making friends

Making friends at first when you have just given up whatever addiction you had is hard. Today on 4mics 13teeth 1anklemonitor Gary and Amanda talk about this. For them it has been even harder because they are married to each other and have three small children. Everyone tells you to get rid of old people, places and things. This is easy to tell someone and the right thing to tell them but for the one that has to do it it's very hard especially since you are telling me that i have to get rid of my friends (all my friends were in addiction also). So now I don't have anyone to hang out with or to talk to. This is the one area that we in addiction struggle with and I really wish I could use the right word for it because it is very hard. This is the 2nd step I had to make and until I heard my pastor say, " I went out to find a friend and I found any (none), I went out to be a friend and I found many".
