Making Money on the Homeless

Join us today for a conversation about Homelessness as we strive get to the nuance of the issue that the Media refuses to. There are many reasons why people are homeless and some make the choice to be so.  Why? My friend John proposes that Homelessness in the end is due to Relational Poverty.  Practically speaking, the individual does not have friends or family in their life to stay with.  From a spiritual standpoint, they lack a relationship with their Creator that gives them meaning, purpose, and value. We discuss how the Church should approach this with Love and a how the Government (World) approaches it with money. We talk about the reality that there is money-being made off this problem, and that all the money in the world thrown at Homelessness, with no Love or Value for the individual, is futile. We discuss some of the practical teachings of the Bible, and the insight that Jesus wants to do more than feed the belly, he wants to give us Eternal Life.
