Episode 5 Season II

And this week its our special guest Scotland International Professional Rugby league and Rugby Union player Harvey (Harv) Burnett.

Harvey was Diagnosed with Cancer in his early 20's just as he was reaching the peak of his professional career in sport, a devastating blow at such an early age Harvey tells us openly how the diagnosis immediately impacted on his health, life and exciting career.

Harvey started as a junior for the Elmbridge Eagles, and was in the London Broncos Academy system. He made his Scotland début in 2014 against France. In 2015 he made his Challenge Cup début for the Bronco's against the Leigh Centurions.

Harvey spent time on loan at the London Skolars in 2015, Midway through the 2015 season Burnett switched codes to play rugby union. In 2016 Harvey returned to rugby league and joined Oxford in RFL League and in 2018 Burnett joined Bradford Bulls on a one-year contract.

Following Harvey's diagnosis, treatment and long battle with Cancer, Harvey formed his non-profit organisation entitled "Making my grass greener" (MMGG).

MMGG trades on good morals and believe in good people, branding themselves as a Robin Hood company. MMGG sells ethical and sustainable products, hosts events/fundraisers in order to donate profits to those who need it. Their goals are to feed the homeless, fund community sport and breed positive mindsets.

Their mission is simple, spread positivity as far & wide as possible! and truly believe that to make real change you must be thinking positively and help others to do the same. “Time is the only currency.”

Harvey is a truly inspirational guest and we were very privileged to have him with us today.

Prince and the Pauper, The by Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) LibriVox The Prince and the Pauper (1882) represents Mark Twain's first attempt at historical fiction. The book, set in 1547, tells the story of two young boys who are identical in appearance: Tom Canty, a pauper who lives with his abusive father in Offal Court, London, and Prince Edward son of Henry VIII of England. Due to a series of circumstances, the boys accidentally replace each other, and much of the humor in the book originates in the two boys' inability to function in the world that is so familiar to the other (although Tom soon displays considerable wisdom in his decisions). In many ways, the book is a social satire, particularly compelling in its condemnation of the inequality that existed between the classes in Tudor England. In that sense, Twain abandoned the wry Midwestern style for which he was best known and adopts a style reminiscent of Charles Dickens. (Summary from Wikipedia.org) English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs Loyal Books Jack the Giant-Killer, Tom Thumb, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Henny Penny, Dick Whittington, The Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood and a host of immortal characters are found in this delightful collection of English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs. The book made its first appearance in 1890 and has remained a firm favorite with both young and old ever since. Fairy tales have traditionally emanated from France and Germany. The famous compilations by La Fontaine and the Brothers Grimm have overshadowed children's literature for centuries. Yet, many of the stories we recount to children today have an English origin, something that we were unaware of. The author, Joseph Jacobs, was an Australian folklorist and historian who painstakingly compiled them from various sources. In the preface to the first edition he recounts how he collected some stories from the descendants of English immigrants in America and Australia, while he sourced others from English gypsies and old ballads.
