Find the pics and a full transcript for this episode on our website: 2scientists.org/podcast/crystal-clear Dr. Crystal Mendoza loves talking science and wants to support any and all researchers who want to do the same. A virologist by training, she’s worked in universities and industry. Now she is living the SciComm dream by working as a science writer. This episode has been a long time in the making, but it’s a pleasure to share this conversation about making science more accessible because it seems more urgent than ever. We also talked about the difficulties of suffering from chronic pain while working in the lab and the challenge of the two-body problem… Find out more about Crystal’s work here. For anyone interested in learning more about the Art of Science Communication course, you can find more details on the ASBMB site: asbmb.org/professional-development/communication-course (and you might find a familiar face in the process…) The track featured here is the very aptly named “Trust me, I’m a doctor” by Amphibian. Find more of her tunes on bandcamp: https://amphibiandance.bandcamp.com/album/collecting-silver. Thank you Gina for allowing us to feature your music. The coincidences continue with the name of the venue which was Black Laboratory Brewing. Thank you so much for letting us camp out, for helping us with our power woes, and for the free fruity flight! For anyone interested in experimenting with their brews, you can find out more about them here: https://www.blacklaboratorybrewing.com/
