She’s the author of several practical books for clinicians, including The Easy R, The Myofunctional Evaluation, and The Key to Carryover. Over the course of her career, Char has delivered hundreds of highly rated seminars on speech and language topics through platforms such as Speech Therapy PD, TalkTools, the Bureau of Education and Research (BER), and her own company, Speech Dynamics. She also hosts the popular Speech Link podcast and writes the resource-rich, idea-driven blog, Therapy Matters—both aimed at supporting fellow SLPs with tools they can use right away. Char earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Michigan University, where she studied under the legendary Dr. Charles Van Riper in the final years of his career. Since then, she has served as an Assistant Professor and Department Chair at Loma Linda University and spent many years working in both public schools and private practice.
