Malik Washington Shines in Road Win | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Maryland’s offense and defense exploded on the road, dismantling UConn 38-14 with Malik Washington throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns while completing an astonishing 82.9% of his passes — a career high and fourth-best in program history. The Terps’ balanced attack saw nine different receivers catch passes, including breakout performances from Naeem Gladding and Chris Durr Jr., both surpassing 100 yards. Defensively, Maryland suffocated UConn, forcing five sacks, two fumbles, and holding them to just 223 total yards — effectively shutting down their run game. This win extends Maryland’s non-conference winning streak to 20 games, one of the longest active in FBS. Minor special teams hiccups (a missed field goal and inconsistent punting) are noted, but overall, the Terps are firing on all cylinders as they prepare for Big Ten challenges.
