Malik Washington's Leap or Maryland's Fall | Maryland Terrapins Football News

Malik Washington is Maryland’s biggest hope for a turnaround this season—fresh off a freshman-record 2,900-yard passing campaign, he’s now tasked with leading a revamped offense under new OC Clint Trickett, who demands speed and experience. With key returning linemen, running backs DeJuan Williams and Iverson Howard, and transfers like Harry Dalton, the team has talent—but it hinges on Washington stepping up big. The defense also brings promise with Sidney Stewart and a strong secondary. Still, if the run game doesn’t click, Washington may be asked to carry even more. At just 20, he’s already a campus leader and face of the program—now he must prove his leadership translates to wins on the field.
