Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has announced that he resigned from his position as leader of the West African country, saying he does not wish blood to be shed. This comes after a military mutiny that saw soldiers taking up arms and detaining the President as well as Prime Minister Boubou Cisse at a key base in Kati, a town close to Bamako.
