Malls and Museums

Welcome to another episode of Tidewater Talk, your go-to podcast for all things Coastal Virginia. This week, Brodie and Co dive into the snowy weather that blanketed the area, sharing personal anecdotes about being snowed in and the challenges of clearing driveways without proper equipment. We also discuss the importance of being prepared for emergencies during such weather conditions. In local news, we cover the auction of retail space at Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, highlighting the changing landscape of shopping malls and the impact on local communities. We also touch on the tragic shooting of two Virginia Beach police officers, offering our condolences to their families and colleagues. Our weather update brings surprising warmth following the snow, with temperatures rising significantly throughout the week. We also provide a marine forecast for those planning to be out on the water. For community tips, we recommend visiting the Children's Museum in Portsmouth, which offers engaging STEM projects and a fascinating train collection. We also warn listeners about a phone scam involving the Norfolk SPCA, urging caution and verification of any suspicious calls. Finally, we highlight upcoming events, including a Renaissance fair at New Realm Brewing, featuring vendors, food, and medieval fighting performances by the Tidewater Dogs of War. Join us next week for more local insights and tips on exploring the vibrant 757 area.
