Man sentenced up to 40 years in prison for murder of Temple nursing student

Tymir Lackey, 23, pleaded guilty in March to third-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the killing of Milan Jones, a 20-year-old who was about to enter her third year of college. The murder happened in June 2024, along Willington Street, a few blocks south of Temple’s campus. Jones was found unresponsive with blunt force trauma to the head, and Lackey was arrested on the scene. He was a student as well, but had been suspended from campus.
