He completed general surgery residency at Yale University, followed by plastic surgery fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He subsequently joined the Vanderbilt faculty, where he contributed extensively to resident education and clinical research, and held leadership roles including Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs.
