Managing School & Work w/ Illness,Disability&Death(Re-broad

from Ask Dr. Applewhite

We must keep in mind that during and after the crisis of random violence or natural disasters  “life goes on as usual”. After the horrific events at the Boston Marathon to the Oklahoma tornadoes family members, as well as victims of injury, still have to deal with the reality of returning to our previous schedules.  Most of us have dealt with grief, illness, maybe a temporary or permanent disability, or loss of a loved one while trying to maintain job and school schedules. The feelings of hopelessness, frustration and so more can be overwhelming. There are ways to get through these times and still succeed as a student and maintain a good attendance record at school and work. This episode is especially important for mature adult learners who have faced obstacles in the past that caused job loss or college drop-out. Let’s develop some strategies to avoid the pitfalls. Be sure to share our shows with your friends, students, and clients every Saturday morning 10-11am or hear more previous episodes at http://blogtalkradio.com/student2teacher  Re-broadcast 9-10-13.
