Manfield Park Chapter XXI

In which we observe the solemn return of Sir Thomas to Mansfield, casting a pall of restraint over family life and contemplating the future of his daughter Maria's imminent marriage to Mr. Rushworth, whose shortcomings become increasingly apparent. Meanwhile, amidst impenetrable feelings and guarded conversations, the departure of Maria and her sister Julia leaves Mansfield a quieter, more diminished place.
